Obii by biird

I received the Obii free of charge in exchange for my honest review for Biird. The fact I was given this product free of charge will not affect the outcome of my review. Biird are a new company who have just released the Obii feel free to check them out here.

The Obii by Biird is a new 3 in 1 sex toy. It is shaped like a little bird. The “beak” opens into the head of a pulse stimulator. The “belly” of the Obii has textured ridges that run vertically down the length of the Obii. The body of the Obii is a vibrator and the textured “belly” along with the smooth back of this bird shaped sex toy vibrate. It is also made from super squishy Silicone that I would say mimics the squishiness of the Iroha vibrators I have tried in the past. The third function is when it is placed on the charging stand and the USB cable is plugged in it will glow a lovely dim light around the base.

There are three Colour variations of the Obii to choose from. It is available in: Bubblegum Pink (A lovely pastel Pink Colour), Biird Yellow (A soft pastel Yellow) and Mint Green (A soft pastel Teal colour). I received the Mint Green variation which I think is such a lovely colour. The Obii comes in a very sturdy box that features the colour of the product it contains on the side of the box. The top of the box lifts up to reveal the Obii and then the accessories (Instruction booklet and the USB charging cable) are just below in a separate cardboard box.

The Obii has a 150 minute usage time on the Pulse mode and an 80 Minute usage time on the Vibration mode. It does need to be charged for a full 2.5 hours to get this amount of usage time. I do recommend putting it on charge for a couple of hours as soon as you have unpackaged it so you are good to go. You just place it onto the “Nest” charging base the magnetic buttons should lock it into place. Then you place the cover onto the base and plug the USB into the port on the base and it will start glowing. It will stop glowing once it is fully charged.  You can use the base as a night light just take off the Obii and place the cover on top and the light should have a steady glow.

To operate the Obii you have two separate buttons, one for each mode. To use the Vibration mode you press and hold the button with the wave shaped pattern underneath it in for 3 seconds, this will start the vibrations on the lowest continuous setting. You can then press it in again and again to cycle through the 3 intensities (Low, Medium and High) and then the single patterned setting. To turn the vibrations off you press and hold the wave button in for 3 seconds and this should turn the Obii off.

To use the Pulse mode on the Obii you press and hold the button that has a 0 underneath it in for 3 second this should turn the Pulse modes on it will start on the lowest intensity. To change the intensity you just press the button in again and again to cycle through the three intensities (Low Medium and High) and the single patterned mode if you press it again it will start over on the Lowest Intensity. To turn the Pulse mode off you Press and hold the 0 button in again for 3 seconds and it will turn off the Pulse. To switch the mode you are in just press and hold the opposite button and it will switch to that mode.

You cannot have both pulse and vibration modes on simultaneously. To turn the travel lock on you press and hold both the buttons in at the same time for 4 seconds and a Red LED will flash indicating the travel lock is activated. To deactivate the travel lock you press and hold them in again for 4 seconds and then turn on the device with either the Pulse or Vibration mode.

During use I found the Pulse mode was relatively good the variation of the intensities where good enough to satisfy my needs. However half was through my session I realised that I started getting a slight pinchy feeling on my Clitoral hood. Now I wouldn’t say I have a large Clitoral hood, my Clitoris is quite exposed. I wasn’t sure what was going on. I immediately stopped using the Obii and I re-adjusted myself and got a better seal, this made no difference. I still got the same pinch-like pain so I had to stop using it. Afterward I was able to figure the issue out, the Obii has a very shallow Pulse chamber so shallow that when placing my pinky inside it the rim only reaches to my cuticle and I can feel the Pulse mechanism drumming against my finger. I figure a lot of people will encounter the same issue I had and I have never had this experience with a Pulse toy before even the more shallow chambered ones. I did end up bruising my Clitoris and I think the thing that caused it was the Pulse mechanism drumming against my Clitoris like it did my pinky finger. After a couple of days I felt ok again.

During use on the Vibration mode I had a much better experience the squishy silicone feels incredibly soft against my skin, I found that if I sort of rolled the textured side back and forth from left to right and back I was able to feel the texture more and it felt great! The Vibration settings are the standard ones you get with most Vibrators I usually start on the Lowest setting and build up to the Highest continuous setting to orgasm. You can also get a more pin point stimulation from the back of the Obii on the “Tail”. The “Belly” offers a more broad spread out stimulation and I found this was my preferred way to use the Obii.

Summary

Overall I think Obii by Biird is a good concept and I would recommend it for the Vibration mode however I definitely would not recommend the Pulse mode given the experience I had using it. It is such a shame because I really like the fact it is a multi-use product. That said I can only use the Obii for the Lamp and the Vibration mode. I really like the idea that it is a whisper quiet and discreet Sextoy, it is a shame that the pulse mode really let it down for me.
